on a first gen, it takes a case of beer and a BFH bilsteins alone wont really cut it. i mean you could probably get away with a narrow 33 or a 32, but to truly fit a 33x12.50 you need at least 4 in of lift in the front (and you will still rub with a 4) even the new coilover sets like fox,icon,camburg you will get around 2.5 in of lift so you will be able to clear a 285 size tireIn the meantime, my 2nd gen 4runner is keeping me happy. I have come across a pretty clean looking 1st gen that has a good amount of miles on it, about 250k.
