Kel Tec didn't say why it got stuck (locked up) but replaced a lot of components. Sounds like the barrel somehow grabbed the spent 22LR case causing it to be locked in place. The extractor was held to the case rim preventing the slide from moving back open. Somehow the frame internals got damaged. If the Taurus TX22 didn't exist I'd already be calling shops to get in line. However, the TX22 does exist and it's getting rave reviews. It also hasn't been hit by the ugly stick nearly as hard as this has (in my opinion). After the rebate that's available right now the TX22 is close in price too. I do have some questions about the P17 though:
