Well I just installed Curseforge again to verify and yes it's still terribly slow to open compared to WowUp, yes it installs the garbage Overwolf app when you install Curseforge, and yes it opens Overwolf in the background whenever you open Curseforge (and starts Overwolf in the background with your computer by default).

Just go to Wowup site and download it. I had been putting off installing the Curseforge "standalone" application. Even to the point of starting to install it, then canceling. I've been updating addons manually since Overwolf/Curseforge decided to monopolize their API. I've heard nothing good about Overwolf, and I am highly suspicious of them - even the so-called "standalone" app.
