Since SIG Sauer is no longer being exported from Germany to the US, the Mosquito is no longer going to be available from SIG Sauer. SIG should have never put their name on that gun. It just isn't a good gun. But, GSG has announced that it will be exporting the gun to the US through ATI with the new name "GSG .22LR Firefly".The GSG 1911-22 has a light weight slide (zinc, I think) this is much softer than the steel slide STOP. If you use the slide STOP lever to release the slide, it will cause excessive wear on the slide. By using the "slingshot" method to release the slide, you all but eliminate this problem. Dec 30, 2016 · From those that are mentioned, if I had to choose I'd select the SR22. Not familiar with the Firefly but, if it is a rebranded Mosquito, then run (don't walk) away from that one. IMHO the problem with all of these 22LR combat style look-alikes is that they all suffer from 1 or 2, or both problems. Nov 23, 2020 · None of this is out-of-line for a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. The FireFly is a 95% scale of the P226 but weighs considerably less — 24.6 oz. compared to the P226’s 34.4 oz. The alloy frame overmolded with polymer makes the difference. The FireFly is Designed to Look and Feel Like a Sig Sauer P226.
