You have a 350 there. A 305 of that vintage would have 450 casting heads and a 460776, 777, or 778 block. I just scrapped one that was in a 79 Camaro. The real problem with 305 heads on the big bore 400 is the fact that the tiny 305 combustion chambers are designed for the tiny 305 cylinders. When you bolt the 305 heads on the much larger 400 bore, you wind up with a combustion mismatch.
