I assume the regen you are referring to is either the active regen or the passive regen. The passive regen happens automatically when under heavy load. The active regen, is activated by you. It dumps fuel into the system, making it a little better than the passive regen. Being you do not have any issues with the Parked regen. I was having to do a parked regen after every 800 miles or so.
