The only difference is based on rating formulas, so that average is somewhere else. Usually on lichess 1200, on chess.com 1000 or so. Use the logic: if rating pools mattered, then you could launch the same EXACT formula in another website with similar amounts of players and get completely different average numbers, like 1800 vs 1100.

Chess.com has excellent learning material for new players, and I find its user interface more intuitive in many places vs. lichess.org.
