Description. The Rafael Larco Herrera archaeological museum exhibits one of the most complete collections of pre-Columbian art in Peru. It was founded in 1926 by the Peruvian archaeologist Rafael Larco Hoyle, who donated part of his private collection to form the beginnings of the museum. It is one of the oldest museums in the country. Larco Museum immerses visitors in pre-Hispanic culture through extensive artifact collections. Casa De Aliaga offers a glimpse into the opulent world of royalty with its Spanish colonial architecture. Saint Francis Basilica provides a serene atmosphere and profound religious experience through its artistic architecture.
