Jan 8, 2006 · Jan 19, 2007. #3. the harness from the factory head unit comes form a small amp mounted under the radio in front of the shifter. once you take the head unit out, inside that big hole there is a a harness with 2 plugs mounted on the right hand side. you gotta unplug those 2 and instead of plugging the one that comes out of the deck into the amp ...I went with complete speaker replacement, subwoofer and amplification by Rockford Fosgate. It is my understanding that you can NOT remove or bypass the factory amp, thus the Sum8 is needed. Check out my post with photos of the complete setup. I can assure you, my setup rocks. Get the antenna adapter though and connect it to the wire that plugs into the "amp" or "sub" slot from your factory radio, it is your am/fm antenna from the car. Take the time to run new wires down to where you cut off the speakers from the amp.
