From October 16th, 1901 to July 14th, 1902 Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was a student at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Leipzig., Nikisch also served as director of the Leipzig Conservatory from 1902 and there taught a class in conducting.
