Remove the flywheel, take off the side cover and use a punch to knock the whole governor assembly out from the back. Then tap the two holes that are left (back of the case and the top) and install bolts into the holes. Be sure to cover things up as much as possible so you don't get shavings where you don't want them.

The first gens has a 3/4 engine shaft so a torque converter will bolt right on but later ones have a 3/8 so you need and adapter. The shaft on the newer ones is 5/8 inch. There are 30 series torque converter available in both 3/4 and 5/8 shaft sizes and multiple chain sizes.

With a torque converter and stock Coleman gearing the engine doesn't produce the RPM that could pop a connecting rod or blow up the flywheel into your right leg.
