Yes, the iron farm broke everything. Had the same thing on my first world (sharpercraft season one), where i needed iron for toolsmith, armorers and the sword guys, built an iron farm next to my base and all the villagers ended up fighting for beds (one villager will link to bed, then another one to the same bed disconnecting the first guy, etc.) and it was messy and stuff.Place a 2 high wall in front or around any other workstation blocks, so any other villagers around can't pathfind/claim the workstation you place down other than the villager you want to take it. When I I was "zombifying" my villagers, I did them multiple at a time so they lost the connections to their beds.
